TL;DR

Human nodes and friends! Over the past two weeks, the team has been working tirelessly, and a lot of exciting news appeared, so let’s dive in and explore what’s been happening in the world of Humanode!

Humanode has partnered with SubQuery. With SubQuery’s decentralized data indexing infrastructure, developers can easily access on-chain data for the apps they want to build on Humanode. With this partnership, Humanode will benefit from SubQuery’s wide range of features, including the open-source SDK, simple startup guides, detailed developer documentation, committed developer help, and other benefits that developers appreciate in the SubQuery ecosystem.

The great news is, the Beta Version of the Humanode Explorer has been released. It is based on the ParaScan open-source repository and uses SubQuery to pull the data from the Humanode blockchain. As it is still an early beta version, its main functionality is limited to showing blocks, and transfers from and to your humanode address. Other functions here are at a very rudimentary stage but fret not. Fully functional versions with all the bells and whistles that you will ever need on an explorer (and with pretty graphics and all) are scheduled for release in the very near future.

Last week, the team announced that the Humanode blockchain network has officially reached 2 million blocks. This a massive milestone for the Humanode community and a testament to the hard work and dedication of the developers, validators, and supporters.

Moreover, the team has revamped the fee structure for improved transparency & fairness. Dive in to learn about the changes & how they benefit the human nodes and users alike in the blog post.

The first batch of 1 person = 1 vote community polls took place in the Humanode Discord. The poll titled ‘Should we increase the number of validators getting the reward?’ ended with 55/45 results in favor of increasing the number of human nodes getting the rewards. The latest community poll ‘Do we want to introduce the mechanism of Humanode validator reward slashing?’ ended with 81/19 results in favor of canceling the reward distribution to those who missed too many epochs. The team will be deciding the slashing period and the exact number of epochs the validator needs to get the rewards in the next vote later this week. Get a Verified Human role and participate in the next vote!

Lately, MEV exploits on Ethereum have become a hot topic, with everyone discussing and searching for ways to address the issue. Dive into a freshly-published captivating quick editorial on how MEV is turned into a public good in Sybil-resistant blockchains.

Moreover, Bitmart hosted two AMA (Ask-Me-Anything) sessions with the co-founders of Humanode. They answered community questions in Twitter Spaces. In case you missed it, check out the recordings!

🔺 The Beta Version of the Humanode Explorer has been released

Per request from many community members, the Humanode Dev team released the beta version of the Humanode Explorer. The Beta Humanode Explorer is based on the ParaScan open-source repository and uses SubQuery to pull the data from the Humanode blockchain. Check out the details here.

🔺Humanode reached 2 million blocks

Last week, the team announced that the Humanode blockchain network has officially reached 2 million blocks.

This is another milestone for the Humanode community and a testament to the hard work and dedication of the developers, validators, and supporters. The Humanode network with a unique security mechanism and equal validators remained up and running for the whole time without any interruptions with 2 million blocks and counting.

🔺Fee system is updated

Moreover, the team has revamped the fee structure for improved transparency & fairness. Dive in to learn about the changes & how they benefit the human nodes and users alike in the blog post.

🔺Validator Ranking

Seeing a lot of questions and speculations on who has made it to the list of top validators, how many sessions (epochs) they were part of, and how much reward they got, the Humanode team has created a link where everyone can see the latest data and information regarding the performance of human nodes.

Partnerships

Humanode has partnered with SubQuery

SubQuery offers decentralized data indexing infrastructure for developers creating apps on various layer-1 blockchains like Ethereum, the Cosmos ecosystem, Polkadot, Algorand, Avalanche, and now Humanode. Being a fast and flexible open data indexer, it assists developers in building APIs quickly and easily index chains with the help of dictionaries (pre-calculated indices).

With this partnership, Humanode will benefit from SubQuery’s wide range of features, including the open-source SDK, simple startup guides, detailed developer documentation, committed developer help, and other benefits that developers appreciate in the SubQuery ecosystem.

As a real-world example, the Humanode tech team has effectively utilized SubQuery to build the Humanode Explorer.

This tool is based on the ParaScan open-source repository and leverages SubQuery’s robust data indexing capabilities to showcase transactions involving humanode accounts, blocks’ data, and a wealth of additional information from the Humanode blockchain. You can check how it works here: https://beta.explorer.humanode.io/

This collaboration unlocks numerous opportunities for developers to harness Humanode’s on-chain data. For instance, they can easily build custom APIs to get on-chain data (transfers, bioauthentication events, online validator nodes, etc.) for the apps they want to build. Exchanges can easily retrieve chain data, and users can develop websites, Telegram or Discord bots that send notifications when bioauthentication is about to expire or build a ranking of human nodes (validators).

Awareness & Events

1 person = 1 vote community polls

  • [Community Signaling 4]

1 person = 1 vote community poll on the increase of the number of human nodes getting rewards (“Should we increase the number of validators getting the reward?”) ended with 55/45 result in favor of increasing the number of human nodes getting the rewards.

107 humans participated, and the community was divided. In Humanode WP and DAO, Vortex, the team outlined that, for many reasons, the 66% threshold gives more confidence, and further discussion is required if the poll did not reach a 66% majority.

Hence, the team decided to hold this poll later. The fee system upgrade just happened last week, let’s see how it can increase the total network fees.

MISC

Thank you for your patience. The team has successfully processed the airdrop issues form and have now distributed tokens to 105 testnet validators. A few months ago we asked you to fill out a form. If you submitted the form but haven’t received your tokens, please note the following:

1- You can claim your tokens here: https://token-claims.mainnet.stages.humanode.io/

You will need to claim with the correct Ethereum address. (In case you forget, you can reach out to Princess Fiona on Discord to know the correct address).

2- If you launched a node but did not become a validator, the substrate addresses you provided might not have had any block participation in any of the testnets. In this case, you won’t receive any tokens.

🔓For those with locked tokens on your main Humanode address, remember to claim your new tokens to a different Humanode address.

  • Scam alert: there is a Humanode Hub named group with a different handle. Check humanode.io for links.
